Job Summary:
The CT Technologist is responsible for performing advanced computed tomography imaging procedures across multiple body systems including abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, neck, spine, and musculoskeletal regions. This role requires expertise in image acquisition, processing, and post-processing techniques such as 3D rendering and multiplanar reconstruction. The CT Tech will work primarily in an adult acute care hospital environment including ICU, emergency department, and Level I trauma settings, ensuring patient safety through radiation safety protocols and contrast media administration. The position demands strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team during night shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Perform CT imaging procedures for abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, neck, spine, and musculoskeletal trauma cases with and without contrast.
- Execute specialized imaging such as Coronary CTA and vascular chest studies.
- Apply radiation safety principles and isolation precautions consistently.
- Prepare and administer contrast media safely and effectively.
- Start peripheral IVs and perform venipuncture as required for imaging procedures.
- Utilize advanced image display and post-processing techniques including 3D rendering, maximum intensity projection, surface shaded displays, volume rendering, multiplanar reconstruction, and region of interest measurement.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and support staff to ensure optimal patient care and imaging outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and charting using Cerner electronic medical records.
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of CT technologist experience.
- Current ARRT certification and ARRT-CT certification.
- Active state license to practice as a CT Technologist (Illinois state license required or in application process with ETA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, neck, spine, and musculoskeletal CT imaging with and without contrast.
- Experience with advanced image post-processing techniques.
- Knowledge of radiation safety, contrast media preparation/administration, and peripheral IV insertion.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience working in adult acute care hospital settings including ICU, emergency department, and Level I trauma centers.
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical record system.
- Experience with coronary CTA and vascular chest imaging procedures.

- Work primarily in adult acute care, ICU, emergency department, and Level I trauma environments.
- Isolation precautions and strict adherence to radiation safety protocols required.
- No floating outside of scope of practice.
- Parking permit required, no cost to employee.

- Guaranteed hours subject to client call-off policy with potential billing for excess cancellations.
Scheduling:
- Third shift (night shift) schedule: three 12-hour shifts, 1830 to 0700.
- Weekend work as needed.
- No on-call requirement.
- Schedule requests and block scheduling to be discussed with manager.
- Return to office (RTO) and time off requests managed through manager discussions.
