Benefits Administrator

Contract Assignment – FMLA Leave Coverage | 3–6 Months

Location: Milton, MA
Pay Rate: $38.00–$40.00 per hour
Schedule: On-site
Duration: 3–6 months

Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Benefits Administrator for a contract assignment supporting a higher education institution in Milton, MA. This position will provide temporary coverage for an employee on FMLA leave and is ideal for an HR professional with strong benefits administration experience, knowledge of leave management, and a commitment to employee service.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.

  • Serve as a primary contact for employee questions regarding benefits, eligibility, coverage, and enrollment.

  • Manage leaves of absence, including FMLA, ensuring proper documentation, timely communications, and compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.

  • Coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations while maintaining accurate and confidential employee records.

  • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions and proper processing of employee leaves.

  • Review and reconcile benefits vendor invoices and resolve discrepancies with vendors.

  • Support compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and ACA requirements.

  • Coordinate with benefits vendors, brokers, and internal HR partners to resolve employee issues and maintain effective benefit programs.

  • Assist with benefits reporting, audits, and other administrative projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • 3–5 years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR role.

  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits, leave administration, and applicable federal and state regulations.

  • Experience administering FMLA and other leaves of absence strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency with HRIS and benefits administration systems.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of accuracy.

  • Experience with Banner, SHRM certification, or CEBS designation is a plus.
