As our company grows and expands into commercial projects, we are looking for an experienced, motivated painter who wants to grow with us.

Position Overview Finish Coat is looking for a dependable, skilled, and detail-oriented Mid-Level Painter with at least two years of professional residential painting experience to join our team.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, works efficiently, treats customers’ homes with care, and consistently delivers a high-quality finished product.

This person has a solid foundation in residential painting and is ready to continue developing their skills, work more independently, and take on greater responsibility.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to build on their existing experience, gain exposure to commercial painting projects as our business expands, and progress toward a journeyman-level painting role.

Key Responsibilities Review project instructions and specifications to understand the scope of work, materials, colors, and expected quality standards.

Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, and applying primers or sealers.

Apply paints, stains, primers, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, sprayers, and appropriate techniques.

Produce clean, consistent lines and professional-quality finishes.

Identify surface imperfections and complete necessary preparation before painting.

Protect customers’ furniture, flooring, fixtures, landscaping, and surrounding areas from paint, dust, and damage.

Follow project specifications and color and finish requirements.

Inspect completed work, perform touch-ups, and ensure the finished product meets Finish Coat’s quality standards.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout each project.

Properly clean, maintain, and care for painting tools and equipment.

Use materials efficiently and communicate supply needs, project concerns, or potential issues to the appropriate team member.

Work efficiently while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and attention to detail.

Communicate professionally with homeowners, coworkers, and supervisors.

Treat customers’ homes and property with respect and care.

Complete assigned work according to established schedules and company expectations.

Follow applicable safety procedures and company policies.

Continue developing painting techniques and professional skills to support Finish Coat’s expansion into commercial projects and opportunities for increased responsibility.

Qualifications At least two years of professional residential painting experience required.

Working knowledge of interior and exterior painting techniques.

Experience with surface preparation, priming, caulking, patching, brushing, rolling, and spraying.

Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members.

Ability to work from ladders and elevated surfaces and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry painting equipment and materials safely.

Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe jobsite.

Positive attitude and willingness to learn, accept feedback, and develop new skills.

Commercial painting experience is a plus but is not required.

Interest in building a long-term career in painting and progressing toward a journeyman-level role.

Compensation and Growth Opportunities Starting pay:

  • $18.00 per hour, increasing to $20.00 per hour after successfully completing the initial three-month probationary period .

Performance-based bonuses:

  • After completing the three-month probationary period, the employee will be eligible to participate in Finish Coat’s performance-based bonus program, subject to the program’s applicable terms and criteria.

Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
  • Work from ladders and elevated surfaces while following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Lift, carry, and handle painting supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as brushing, rolling, sanding, scraping, and other surface preparation.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Safely perform the essential physical tasks associated with residential painting projects, with reasonable accommodation where required.
