Data Governance Lead / Manager

Enterprise Data Governance Leader

In this remote role, you will lead enterprise data governance initiatives to ensure trusted data across business functions. You'll define governance frameworks, drive data quality, metadata management, and Master Data Management (MDM), enabling regulatory compliance and data-driven decision making. You will implement and scale Microsoft Purview and related data management practices to support analytics, reporting, and risk management. This position offers the chance to shape governance models and dashboards that monitor compliance and data health.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the enterprise Data Governance Strategy and Operating Model
• Define Data Governance Roadmap, Policies, Standards, and Procedures
• Establish Data Governance Council and Stewardship Program; drive ownership and accountability
• Define and monitor governance KPIs and compliance metrics
• Design and implement enterprise Data Quality Framework and data quality rules
• Lead data remediation, issue management, and monitor Data Quality Scorecards and Dashboards
• Design and implement Customer, Product, Vendor, and Reference Data Management strategies; manage Golden Records and survivorship
• Develop enterprise Metadata Management framework; manage Business Glossary, Data Dictionary, and Data Lineage
• Develop Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models; define canonical data models and standards
• Implement and manage Microsoft Purview capabilities (Data Catalog, Glossary, Lineage, Classification, Estate Insights); automate metadata scanning
• Ensure GDPR, CCPA, BCBS239, HIPAA, PCI-DSS compliance and related controls; support audits and risk management
• Utilize Python and SQL to automate governance processes; create governance dashboards and support AI initiatives
