Buyer | Manufacturing - $32.00 - $36.00 / hour

Sterling Engineering is seeking an experienced Buyer to support purchasing and procurement operations for a manufacturing company in Oklahoma City, OK. This position will focus on sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and components to support production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and purchase raw materials, components, equipment, and supplies.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, contracts, and delivery terms.
• Create, process, and track purchase orders.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance.
• Partner with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Logistics to support manufacturing requirements.
• Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess stock.
• Resolve supplier issues involving delivery, quality, and pricing.
• Identify cost savings opportunities and purchasing process improvements.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records using ERP systems.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Experience purchasing metals, plastics, or mechanical components is a strong plus.
• Strong vendor negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Experience working with ERP and purchasing systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
