Transportation Data Entry Clerk

Transportation Data Entry ClerkPay: $22.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Assignment Length: 6 months, with potential for extension
Start Date: ASAP Penmac Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Transportation Data Entry Clerk for a full-time opportunity with a confidential client. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with numbers, reviewing documents for accuracy, and maintaining organized financial records. The Transportation Data Entry Clerk plays an important role in ensuring transportation and logistics-related financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.Requirements for the Transportation Data Entry Clerk

• Previous data entry, accounting support, logistics, transportation, or administrative experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work with large volumes of data and documents
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) or ERP systems such as Oracle or Lawson is a plus

Transportation Data Entry Clerk Responsibilities

• Enter high-volume transportation and logistics data into Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and accounting systems
• Review and process freight invoices, carrier statements, bills of lading, delivery receipts, and transportation records
• Audit freight charges for accuracy and verify charges align with established contracts
• Identify discrepancies such as duplicate charges, rate variances, missing documentation, or billing errors
• Work with logistics personnel, distribution center teams, carriers, and finance leaders to research and resolve issues
• Assign appropriate general ledger (GL) codes, cost centers, and account numbers
• Scan, organize, index, and maintain transportation-related documents and records
• Assist with weekly and monthly reporting and transaction summaries
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling financial information

Compensation and Benefits

• $22.00 per hour
