CDL-A Trainee - Paid Mentor Training
- Full-time
- Quick Apply
This seat is only for new drivers. If your CDL is recent, or you're coming back after time away, this fleet is built for you.
We're hiring around Palmdale, Lancaster, Quartz Hill and Rosamond for a refrigerated fleet based in Jurupa Valley.
Training first
Orientation lasts up to 2 days and pays $300 once you're hired. Lodging is covered. Then you drive with a mentor for 3 to 5 weeks, about 200–250 hours, at $850 a week. You don't go solo until you're ready.
The schedule
About 12 to 14 days out, then home every other weekend. You run reefer freight in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona and sometimes Utah. Loads sometimes pass near home. Weekly miles run 1,800–2,200.
One thing to know upfront: on home time, the truck stays at the Jurupa Valley yard. It doesn't come home with you.
Why reefer pays more
- $1,000–$1,300 average per week
- Monthly bonus up to $0.06 per mile (9,200 miles a month, 7 mpg, no accidents)
- Stop pay: $25 for the first extra stop, $35 for each one after
- $25 extra on short loads of 25–99 miles
- $1,000 weekly minimum for your first 3 months solo
- Paid weekly, direct deposit
The freight
No-touch. Some pickups and deliveries are live load or live unload by appointment, but you won't handle the freight.
The truck
An assigned Freightliner, about 1.5 years old on average. Automatic or 10-speed. Most have an APU or inverter.
Benefits after 30 days
