We are working with a growing manufacturing company that is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, refrigeration systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient operations. Location: Ventura/Oxnard, CA area

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production and packaging equipment, including vacuum packaging machines, ovens, freezers, coolers, and chillers.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control system issues to maintain equipment performance.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot refrigeration and temperature-control systems to support product quality and operational efficiency.
• Perform general facility maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, fixtures, and building repairs.
• Troubleshoot motors, pumps, mechanical components, and automated equipment to identify and resolve operational issues.
• Complete preventive maintenance activities and maintain accurate equipment records, work orders, and maintenance logs.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and improvements to enhance production efficiency and reliability.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors to complete specialized maintenance and repair projects.
• Partner with Production, Quality, and Sanitation teams to ensure equipment readiness and maintain smooth daily operations.
• Follow all company safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Cal/OSHA requirements, and applicable food safety standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and strengthen preventive maintenance practices.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, motors, pumps, pneumatics, and mechanical components.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance and responding to equipment breakdowns.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and automated manufacturing equipment is a plus.
• Understanding of manufacturing safety practices and LOTO procedures; knowledge of food safety and cGMP requirements preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to work in refrigerated, wet, noisy, and occasionally hot manufacturing environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Availability to work the 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM shift, including occasional weekends as needed.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.
