Job description

Welder / Fabricator

Join our team as a Welder / Fabricator specializing in custom-engineered industrial air handling units, dust collection systems, and containment enclosures. We specialize in custom-building equipment—ranging from dry cartridge collectors and baghouses to specialized wet dust collectors, downdraft tables, and mist collection systems—tailored to specific factory footprints and hazard profiles.

Quick facts

  • Location: Onsite

  • Pay: $22.00/hour

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

  • Position type: Temp-to-Hire

Why you’ll like this job

  • Consistent schedule with stable day-shift hours and standard weekday finish times.

  • Work on varied, custom-engineered equipment rather than repetitive assembly line work.

  • Opportunity to build skill sets across multiple welding techniques and custom metal fabrication projects.

What you’ll do

  • Welding & Fabrication: Join, fabricate, and repair metal components or complete units using appropriate welding techniques based on blueprints, schematics, and job specs.

  • Quality Assurance: Inspect completed welds for structural soundness and ensure all completed parts meet strict fabrication specifications.

  • Process Coordination: Coordinate with small parts team and welding helpers to develop orders, and pass completed units to helpers for weld grinding and hole drilling prior to paint and final inspection.

  • Measurement & Layout: Accurately read measurements, determine square, and ensure precise fitments.

  • Documentation & Tracking: Record all worked hours on weekly timesheets and unit travelers, logging any modifications or missing parts into the traveler.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, welding helpers, paint staff, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate completion of orders.

What you need

  • Experience: 2–5 years of industrial metal fabrication and welding experience (or equivalent related background) recommended.

  • Welding Expertise: Recent hands-on experience with MIG and TIG welding processes, specifically working with galvanized and stainless steel materials.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and diagrams, along with knowledge of plasma arc cutting and core fabrication principles.

  • Blueprint & Layout Ability: Demonstrated ability to read precision measurements and verify squareness.

  • Supervision: Ability to work effectively under general supervision, reporting to the Welding/Paint Supervisor and Production Manager.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $22.00 - $22.00
