Mechanical Design Engineer – Machine Builder / Automation Integrator

Cubic Machinery is a machine tool builder and robotics integrator in Chino, CA.

We design and build custom machines, robotic cells, and factory automation for aerospace, automotive, and precision manufacturers.

Projects move fast:

• concept to running machine in weeks, not years.

What you'll do Design complete custom machines and robotic cells:

• frames, fixtures, grippers, part feeders, guarding, and integration with CNC machines and robots.
• Select off-the-shelf components (Misumi, SMC, Festo, THK, motors and gearboxes) and size actuators, linear motion, and pneumatics.
• Design custom parts to be machined in-house, keeping them simple and fast to make and assemble.
• Produce 3D models, drawings, and BOMs in SolidWorks quickly, then support build, debug, and installation on the floor.
• Work closely with controls engineers on sensors, PLC I/O, and motion.
• What we're looking for 3+ years designing custom machinery, automation equipment, or robotic cells at a machine builder or integrator.

Strong component selection:

• pneumatics, linear guides, ballscrews, servo/stepper sizing.
• Fast and practical; you can take a concept to a buildable design in days.
• SolidWorks proficiency; good DFM/DFA habits.
• Part feeding and CNC machine tending experience a plus.

Compensation:

• $70,000–$100,000 per year, depending on experience.
