Trucking Coordinator

Location: Watertown, New York

Duration: Full time opportunity

Pay Range: $90k - $100K per annum

Must Haves:

• Strong logistics experience; the hiring manager wants a logistics-minded candidate rather than solely a truck driver.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance.
• Experience coordinating drivers, transportation schedules, and workloads.
• Ability to research and optimize routes and determine when loads should or should not be combined.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills to manage fleet and driver needs.
• Flexibility to support a 24/7 hatchery operation, including weekends, holidays, and changing business demands.

Day To Day:

• Coordinate transportation schedules, driver workloads, and fleet needs.
• Manage driver coordination and help recruit and retain drivers.
• Monitor DOT regulations and applicable hours-of-service requirements.
• Research routes, evaluate travel options, and coordinate load consolidation.
• Maintain transportation schedules and coordinate workloads according to business needs.
• Support transportation operations involving Canada, where applicable.
• Communicate with drivers and internal stakeholders regarding schedules and operational needs.
• Adjust working hours when necessary to support hatchery operations.

Plusses:

• Previous poultry, hatchery, or live-animal industry experience.
• Knowledge of Canadian transportation regulations and hours-of-service requirements.
• Class A CDL or commercial driving experience.
