Business Applications DeveloperDepartment: Information Technology Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Director of ITPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and solutions-oriented Business Applications Developer to join a growing IT team. This hands-on role focuses on designing, developing, implementing, and supporting internal business applications and automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance , translate business challenges into technical solutions, and deliver user-friendly applications that drive measurable , including artificial intelligence and automation, to solve real-world business & Technical Solutions-Design, develop, deploy, and maintain internal business applications, web-based tools, and workflow solutions.-Own the full application development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, prototyping, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.-Develop frontend interfaces, backend functionality, application workflows, and system integrations.-Translate complex business requirements into intuitive, practical applications for nontechnical users.-Build prototypes and minimum viable products (MVPs) to evaluate solutions before full-scale implementation.-Maintain and enhance existing applications to improve functionality, reliability, security, and , duplicate data entry, delays, and operational inefficiencies.-Develop automation solutions that streamline workflows involving spreadsheets, email, data entry, and disconnected systems.-Identify opportunities to leverage AI, optical character recognition (OCR), document extraction, and other emerging technologies.-Implement appropriate validation, exception handling, monitoring, and human review for automated processes.-Develop tools that improve data accessibility, accuracy, operational efficiency, and & Data Management-Integrate applications with databases, APIs, ERP systems, warehouse management systems, ecommerce platforms, and other enterprise technologies.-Collaborate with database and systems teams to ensure applications use approved data sources and established integration standards.-Develop and maintain application-specific integrations, backend logic, and data workflows.-Troubleshoot system connectivity, authentication, data validation, and application performance issues.-Coordinate with internal technical teams to ensure solutions align with existing infrastructure and business & Continuous Improvement-Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and enhancements for internally developed applications.-Implement testing, logging, monitoring, version control, and secure deployment practices.-Maintain technical documentation, training resources, and support procedures.-Identify opportunities to improve application usability, performance, and long-term maintainability.-Collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to prioritize development initiatives and deliver solutions aligned with organizational goals.-Support application adoption through user training, feedback, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications & Experience-Demonstrated experience developing, deploying, and supporting web applications, internal business tools, workflow applications, or comparable production software.-Strong hands-on experience with frontend and backend application development.-Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of relational databases.-Experience developing and integrating applications using APIs.-Understanding of API authentication, data validation, error handling, and troubleshooting.-Experience with source control, testing, debugging, secure deployment, and application security.-Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing applications and codebases.-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business challenges into effective technical solutions.-Experience collaborating with nontechnical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver user-friendly applications.-Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and the ability to review, test, debug, and maintain AI-generated code.-Ability to learn new technologies quickly and independently manage development projects.-Strong communication, organization, and project ownership : A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is beneficial but not required. Relevant hands-on experience and demonstrated technical capabilities will be strongly (OCR), document extraction, and intelligent automation technologies.-Experience integrating applications with ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS).-Knowledge of distribution, inventory management, or warehouse operations.-Experience working with NetSuite, IntraOne, or Microsoft 365 environments.-Experience building applications that improve operational processes, reporting, and decision , processing time, and operational errors.-Developing reliable, secure, and scalable applications that employees can easily adopt.-Translating business needs into practical technical solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.-Successfully moving projects from initial concept and prototype into fully supported production applications.-Continuously identifying opportunities to improve workflows through technology, integration, and , technically skilled developer who enjoys solving business problems through technology. They are equally comfortable writing code, collaborating with business users, and identifying opportunities to automate inefficient , values clean and maintainable code, and brings a practical approach to application development.
