About the Role:
If you're already caring for a family member or loved one, Golden Connections Home Care LLC wants to help you get paid for the incredible work you're already doing. This is a unique opportunity for dedicated individuals in Newport News, VA and the surrounding areas to turn their compassion into a rewarding career — right in their own home.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition and hydration
- Support mobility, transfers, and light exercise or physical activity
- Administer medication reminders and monitor overall health and well-being
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and home organization tasks
- Offer companionship, emotional support, and meaningful social engagement
- Document and communicate care updates to the agency as needed
Requirements:
- Currently caring for a family member, friend, or loved one in need of home care (Adults and Children with disabilities)
- Children must be at least 5 years old
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable with a genuine passion for helping others
- No formal caregiving certification required — training may be provided
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow a care plan
- Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Must reside within an hour of Newport News, VA
- Must have active Medicaid (Accepted Insurance Medicaid MCOs include: Sentara (Optima), Anthem Healthkeepers Plus, Aetna Better Health, Humana)
- If enrolled with another agency and interested in switching, please obtain the DMAS 225 from current agency.
