About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a driven, relationship-oriented Construction Sales & Project Manager to develop new business and manage customer projects from the initial bidding and estimating stage through production, installation, and final customer handoff.

Our client specializes in manufacturing and supplying custom products for construction, sports, recreation, and other commercial applications. Its diverse customer base includes construction companies, contractors, schools, athletic facilities, municipalities, property owners, and other commercial and private customers.

This is a hands-on sales role for someone who understands the construction project lifecycle and can combine business development with effective project management. The successful candidate will identify opportunities, prepare bids and quotes, build customer relationships, close sales, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered according to customer expectations.

The ideal candidate has a background in construction-related sales and project management, understands how to work with contractors and project stakeholders, and is comfortable managing multiple projects, deadlines, and customer relationships simultaneously. Manufacturing experience is a plus, and a genuine interest in sports or athletics is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development

  • Proactively identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities, particularly within the construction and contractor markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, project managers, estimators, property owners, and other prospective customers.
  • Develop opportunities across a diverse customer base, including commercial, municipal, recreational, agricultural, and residential markets.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, assess project requirements, and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
  • Review bid opportunities, interpret project specifications, gather required information, and prepare accurate estimates, quotes, and proposals.
  • Follow up consistently on bids, quotes, and open opportunities to advance projects and secure new business.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms, close sales, and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the process.
  • Develop repeat business and referrals by delivering a positive customer experience and maintaining ongoing communication.

Project Management & Coordination

  • Take ownership of customer projects from initial bidding and estimating through production, installation, and final handoff to the customer.
  • Review project requirements, specifications, measurements, timelines, and customer expectations to ensure a clear understanding of the scope of work.
  • Coordinate with production, printing, installation, and other internal departments to support accurate execution and timely project completion.
  • Track project milestones, deadlines, outstanding items, and changes in customer requirements.
  • Communicate proactively with customers regarding project status, scheduling, questions, and potential delays.
  • Identify issues early, resolve problems, and coordinate solutions with the appropriate internal teams.
  • Ensure project details are communicated accurately between customers and internal departments.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as needed.
  • Follow through until the completed product or project has been delivered and turned over to the customer.

Customer Relationships & Business Growth

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
  • Set clear expectations and maintain professional, timely communication.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and develop long-term customer partnerships.
  • Attend trade shows, industry events, customer meetings, and networking opportunities as needed.
  • Maintain organized records of customer interactions, bids, quotes, sales activities, and project details.
  • Meet established sales targets and performance expectations while supporting our client's broader business goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in construction-related sales, business development, project sales, or a closely related field.
  • Experience coordinating projects from estimating or bidding through execution and completion.
  • Understanding of construction workflows, contractor relationships, project specifications, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret project requirements and prepare accurate bids, estimates, quotes, and proposals.
  • Strong mathematical skills and comfort working with measurements, quantities, pricing, and calculations.
  • Proven ability to prospect for new business, build customer relationships, follow up on opportunities, and close sales.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple active opportunities and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate issues and coordinate solutions.
  • Proficiency with standard business software and the ability to learn internal systems.
  • Ability to work onsite in Ontario, California, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to accommodate customer and project needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in manufacturing, custom fabrication, building products, construction materials, or related industries.
  • Experience with competitive bidding, estimating, and interpreting construction plans or project specifications.
