Senior Developer - Application Modernization (.NET / AI-Assisted Development)

Job Description

Project Overview

Modernize three legacy .NET desktop applications (DrillBIT, Audit Workbook, and PEAK) using MVW's established .NET 10 architecture, design patterns, standard libraries, and UI components, targeting deployment on OpenShift ROSA. Architecture and frameworks are already defined; developers will focus on feature implementation, testing, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze legacy applications to understand functionality, business rules, and workflows.
• Reimplement features using C#/.NET 10 within predefined architectural standards.
• Extensively leverage GitHub Copilot and/or Claude Code in VS Code for development, refactoring, debugging, and test generation.
• Implement UI, business logic, and integrations; ensure functional completeness through unit and regression testing.
• Independently troubleshoot issues, resolve defects, and support deployment.

Required Skills & Candidate Profile

• Programming: Strong OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean coding practices. C#/.NET preferred, strong Java developers acceptable.
• AI & Tools: Demonstrated hands-on expertise with GitHub Copilot and/or Claude Code, Visual Studio Code, Git/GitHub.
• Engineering: Legacy modernization, application development, debugging, automated testing, and REST APIs.
• Preferred: .NET 10, ASP.NET Core, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift ROSA, CI/CD.
• Core Attributes: Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, adaptability, independent execution, and ownership of code quality.

Selection Priority: Proven AI-assisted development proficiency, strong OOP fundamentals, and independent problem-solving. Hands-on developers required.
