Senior Electrical Engineer - Data Center (Contract-to-Hire)

Job description: ***Contract role*** A top-tier engineering, procurement and construction firm is adding a Senior Electrical Engineer to its data center practice in Orlando on a contract-to-hire basis. The assignment runs full time (40 hours/week) through an estimated April 2027, and the right candidate will convert to a permanent role. *Location:* Onsite 5 days/week at the firm's Orlando, FL office. The role is also open at the firm's other U.S. offices: Overland Park, KS; Ann Arbor, MI; Bloomington, MN; Canonsburg, PA; Cary, NC; Dallas, TX; Darien, IL; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Phoenix, AZ; and Tualatin, OR. *Responsibilities* * Lead detailed electrical design of large-scale (hyperscale) data center environments; may lead the design team * Work with engineering project teams and field personnel to deliver projects on scope, budget and schedule * Advise on design risk factors for redundancy and resiliency * Conduct field surveys and assess existing facilities * Prepare and review technical drawings, models, engineering studies, reports and detailed calculations * Mentor and supervise junior engineers and designers * Coordinate directly with clients, which include many of the top companies in the data center industry Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program * 11+ years of related experience * *Required:* prior experience on hyperscale data centers of at least 40 MW * Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM (BIM 360, Navisworks, Revit work sets and view templates a plus) * PE license preferred (or actively pursuing) * Understanding of hyperscale, edge and colocation design differences and data center tier ratings preferred * Strong written and verbal communication skills for direct client interaction * Must be able to work onsite 5 days/week at one of the listed offices Why is This a Great Opportunity: Hands-on design leadership on some of the largest data center programs in the U.S., with a top-tier engineering firm and a clear path to a permanent role.
