Data Analytics Engineer Intern

Job Description:

• Utilize a multidisciplinary approach to data analytic problems combining technical expertise with analytics and business knowledge
• Work with Data Analytic Engineers, Data Analysts, and business partners on embedded cross-functional teams
• Develop subject matter expertise in the business and data analytics
• Execute requirements to develop datasets for Data Analysts and business users
• Execute rapid development of new data work tracks with fast iteration over quick sprints
• Leverage and enhance data infrastructure supporting analytic needs, including AirFlow, GCP Composer, and BigQuery
• Build test scripts and execute testing
• Work with data engineers, analysts, and business partners to ensure end user acceptance
• Contribute to innovation and process improvement
• Contribute to corporate research data files, information platforms, or data spaces for exploring and understanding data
• Demonstrate analytic agility to meet fluid and dynamic business needs

Requirements:

• Summer 2027 internship for students currently enrolled in a degree program
• Currently pursuing and will be completing a bachelor’s degree in a field such as Computer Science, Data Analytics or equivalent skills
• Target start date: May/June 2027
• Basic familiarity with Python and/or Google Cloud Platform/Amazon Web Services and SQL
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and source control (Github)
• Basic familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker
• Computer proficiency in Linux and bash
• Experience in time and task management
• Ability to learn new technologies
• Strong attention to detail
• Intermediate written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels
• Preferred: Development knowledge and experience in Spark or other distributed processing frameworks
• Preferred: Familiarity with statistical concepts and related technology (scikit-learn, pandas, tensorflow) or geospatial analysis a plus
• Dedicated, private workspace free from distractions when working from home
• Appropriate desk and seating when working from home
• Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
