Position Overview

Are you a visionary engineer ready to transcend standard load calculations and steer the electrical backbone of high-profile developments? We are seeking a Licensed Electrical Project Engineer to serve as a Technical Lead within our Orlando-based multidisciplinary firm. In this high-impact role, you will do more than design systems; you will architect the power and lighting infrastructures that define the modern landscape of retail, industrial, and commercial sectors. This is a mission-critical position for a leader who thrives on autonomy and possesses the technical gravity to mentor the next generation of engineering talent.

Joining our team means immersing yourself in a design-first culture that removes the administrative hurdles of engineering. With a dedicated, fully-staffed permitting and licensing department at your disposal, you are empowered to focus entirely on technical excellence and innovative problem-solving. Our firm’s legacy is built on a collaborative, cross-functional platform where MEP, structural, and fire protection disciplines converge to deliver seamless, award-winning projects. Here, your professional growth is backed by 100% paid licensing and a robust benefits package designed to support your long-term career trajectory.

Core Responsibilities

  • System Architecture: Design sophisticated power distribution and lighting systems that exceed client specifications and adhere to rigorous building codes.

  • Technical Leadership: Perform high-level engineering calculations, complex load analyses, and strategic equipment selection (switchgear, panels, DX) for diverse project types.

  • Multidisciplinary Integration: Lead seamless coordination across structural, mechanical, and fire protection disciplines to ensure total project harmony.

  • Project Stewardship: Manage project lifecycles from conceptual design through construction administration, ensuring all deliverables are technically accurate and on schedule.

  • Strategic Oversight: Provide expert redlines and QA/QC oversight for all construction documents, maintaining the highest standards of design clarity.

  • Operational Excellence: Estimate project hours, assist with resource staffing, and develop schedules to ensure optimal workflow and profitability.

  • Mentorship & Development: Supervise and cultivate the skills of designers and junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous technical improvement.

  • Client Consultation: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, participating in project reviews and supporting high-stakes proposal development.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BS or BSEE).

  • Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.

  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in electrical systems design within a consulting or MEP firm.

  • Software Proficiency: Advanced command of Revit, AutoCAD, and industry-standard engineering modeling tools.

  • Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive mastery of national and local electrical codes and discipline-specific standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sector Expertise: Previous experience leading large-scale grocery, restaurant, or senior living projects.

  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience in personnel management and high-level project scheduling.
