LLU: International Students (Full-Time, Day Shift) -

The Director-International Student Services performs diverse managerial duties for the office of the VP for Student Experience and International Student Services, including advising and counseling international students, participating in assigned university committees, overseeing subordinate employees, and keeping current on various visa regulations and procedures to keep the University and students in compliance with federal immigration regulations. Performs other duties as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum three years international student experience required. Minimum one or more years of international living experience preferred. Primary Designated School Official and Responsible Officer as recognized by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Ability to input data/information into a computer and use software packages such as Microsoft Office. 10-key ability is preferred. Ability to accurately type 50 words per minute using a typewriter and/or a computer keyboard. Ability to learn new software required. Good communication skills required to positively interact with students, staff, foreigners, and visitors. Multilingual communication skills, experience, sensitivity and understanding of foreign cultures preferred. Promotes positive, effective customer relations through personal contact and telephone. Ability to speak clearly and pleasantly in English required. Group presentation as well as one-on-one communication skills required. Ability to calculate, simultaneously concentrate on several assignments and deal with interruptions, proofread and compose written materials in English, compile reports, and accurately complete multiple-copy forms. Ability to organize and prioritize workload and complete tasks under deadlines and comprehend and communicate complex immigration laws and regulations to foreigners, visitors, and university staff. Ability to follow instructions and perform routine tasks with limited supervision. Must be able to see, hear, and speak well enough to perform job duties and communicate in person as well as over the phone.
