NiteHawk Sweepers is a fast-moving, high-energy manufacturer of parking lot sweepers in Kent, Washington, just south of Seattle. Our employees come from many different industries, like transportation, electronics, automotive, and even aviation. Together this dynamic team designs and builds the most efficient, operator-friendly, and innovative sweepers in the country. These products are essential, heavy equipment for the maintenance of city streets, parking lots, airports, construction sites, and many other locations. Essential Functions of the Job

  • Design equipment for the sweeper industry.
  • Create detailed component part and/or assembly drawings.
  • Create Bills of Material (BOM) for design layout or component part/assembly drawing.
  • May provide technical service regarding questions of products or designs.
  • Oversee the production of design prototypes by technicians.
  • Create work instructions and other technical writings for production and customer use.
  • Collaborate with team members in Engineering and other departments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Knowledge of engineering design standards and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to write and communicate technically.
  • Knowledge of BOM, stress analysis, material selection and material sizing.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record.
  • Able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel toe shoes.
  • Must have verifiable work references, be able to pass pre-employment drug screen, and a background check.

  • May be required to travel including overnight stays. Must be able to work occasional overtime to complete projects as needed.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively.
  • Loves to see a product from start to finish.

Education and Experience

Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, aerospace or electrical engineering is required. Prefer 1-5 years previous engineering experience, preferably in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions

Work performed in both office and manufacturing environment. Sitting for extended periods of time and occasional lifting/pushing of 50 pounds independently; and stooping, reaching, and/or bending to perform job duties. Primary duties require sufficient manual dexterity and visual/auditory acuity to operate standard office equipment and engineering software. Notes:
