Major Function:
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative Specialist I to support the Water Utilities Engineering Section. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our operations—helping projects move forward and ensuring our team has the support they need to succeed.
You’ll manage a variety of responsibilities, from procurement, payments, and contract processing to recruitment coordination, staff communications, and day-to-day administrative support. Your work will play a vital role in the success of our engineering projects and the essential services we provide to the community.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide administrative support through scheduling, travel coordination, document management, and daily office operations.
- Review and process payments, invoices, change orders, and procurement activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage payroll and personnel processes, including timekeeping, recruitment, onboarding, evaluations, and training support.
- Serve as essential personnel during emergencies, assisting with response efforts that support community resilience.

Minimum Training & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or a related field;
OR
- High school diploma or GED and four years of staff or administrative experience.
Salary Range
$20.8354 to $56.5383/hourly. Hiring rate generally will not exceed $28.8234/hour
Driver's License Requirements
At the department director's discretion, a valid Class E State driver’s license may be required for any of the designated positions allocated to this class.
