Position: Pediatric Operating Room Nurse
Location: Chicago, IL 60637, IL
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
On-call: 3 shifts per six-week schedule, including weekends and weekdays
Pay Rate: $66/ hour
Start Date: July 17
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Operating Room Nurse for a 13-week assignment in Hyde Park. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing specialized care to pediatric patients in the operating room setting. This position requires a compassionate and skilled individual who can effectively collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures involving pediatric patients.
Prepare operating rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
Monitor patients' vital signs and assist in managing their comfort and safety during surgery.
Provide post-operative care and monitor patients' recovery from anesthesia.
Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and post-operative care instructions.
Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as legal regulations, regarding patient care.
Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric operating room nursing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and on-call shifts.
