Overview
The Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver analysis of inventory, warehouse, and transportation operations. The role will contribute to the continuous improvement of our distribution processes. Specific accountabilities include inventory replenishment transactions, inter-company inventory transfer tracking, and accurate record keeping.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Inventory Management
- Monitor and manage inventory replenishment (RARR) for TWIG branches.
- Assist in managing stock status items.
- Ensure stock items are placed in appropriate replenishing hub.
- Convert outdated part numbers to current part numbers.
- Monitor serialized items and update items in the systems to reflect serial flags.
- Manage the process of redeploying excess inventory throughout the company.
- Maintain stock item cleanup utilizing the No Order Controls Report.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory or shipments.
Transportation Coordination
- Monitor and maintain employee credentials with third party vendors.
- Coordinate new truck tasks including vehicle wrap, GPS installation and vehicle documentation binders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficiency measures.
- Actively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to address challenges and ensure a smooth flow of information.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and other relevant operational data.
- Report key metrics of inventory, product availability and transportation performance.
- Assist with the analysis of reports to improve operational efficiencies.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Transportation/Logistics, Material Handling or Operations roles required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- Solid understanding of forecasting and inventory planning concepts preferred.
- Understanding of warehousing, transportation, and logistics concepts required.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and analytics focused approach required.
- Ability to read, speak, understand, and write English.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure
