Independent Living Services (ILS) Instructor – Job Description
Position Summary: The ILS Instructor provides one-on-one support to adults with developmental disabilities to help them build independence at home and in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Support participants with daily living skills (cleaning, cooking, organization, personal goals, community outings).
- Assist with community activities: shopping, transportation training, budgeting, and appointments.
- Document services accurately and on time.
- Communicate professionally with participants, families, and supervisors.
- Follow agency policies, Regional Center guidelines, and maintain participant confidentiality.
- Provide dependable, supportive, and person-centered services.
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must pass background check (Live Scan).
- Strong communication and time-management skills.
- Experience with disabilities or caregiving preferred (not required).
Schedule: Flexible hours; part-time and full-time positions available.
Pay: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
