Independent Living Services (ILS) Instructor – Job Description


Position Summary:
The ILS Instructor provides one-on-one support to adults with developmental disabilities to help them build independence at home and in the community.


Responsibilities:

• Support participants with daily living skills (cleaning, cooking, organization, personal goals, community outings).
  
  
• Assist with community activities: shopping, transportation training, budgeting, and appointments.
  
  
• Document services accurately and on time.
  
  
• Communicate professionally with participants, families, and supervisors.
  
  
• Follow agency policies, Regional Center guidelines, and maintain participant confidentiality.
  
  
• Provide dependable, supportive, and person-centered services.
  
  

Requirements:

• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  
  
• Ability to work independently.
  
  
• Must pass background check (Live Scan).
  
  
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
  
  
• Experience with disabilities or caregiving preferred (not required).
  
  

Schedule:
Flexible hours; part-time and full-time positions available.


Pay:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
