Job Description AECOM's Natural Resouces team is seeking a Mid-level Biologist (Biologist III) to join our growing team. This role will support some of California's most exciting and important projects. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our group of more than environmental professionals in Northern California. This hybrid position will join our team based in our Sacramento, CA office. Candidates must be located in or around the Sacramento area due to project and field work assignments. This opportunity will support a variety of projects and clients in northern California, with a focus on technical writing and analysis, field assessments and surveys, and construction monitoring. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to : + Preparation of reports documenting survey or monitoring results. + Preparation of other technical documents or permit applications. + Preparation of environmental compliance documents (CEQA / NEPA). + Independent report writing capabilities. + Surveys for special-status wildlife and nesting birds. + Surveys for special-status plants and vegetation mapping. + Wetland delineation. + Monitoring of construction activities for compliance with environmental requirements and / or permits. + Participation as an active and positive member of AECOM’s Environmental Planning & Permitting practice. + Occasional travel in Central and Northern California may be required. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications : + Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, or a related field. + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education in environmental analysis, habitat assessments, biological surveys, wetland delineation, and report writing. + Valid U.S. Driver License required (and must be able to safely drive to job sites). Preferred Qualifications : + 6 years of relevant biological experience. + Experience writing and preparing permit applications and other supporting technical documentation is highly desired. + Knowledgeable of common and special-status northern California wildlife and plant species is highly desired. + Experience surveying for special-status species that may occur in northern California, such as nesting birds, California red-legged frog, California tiger salamander, giant garter snake, Alameda whipsnake, and others. + Plant identification skills are desirable but are not required. + Wetland delineation skills are desirable but are not required. + Experience with field data collection tools such as Collector, Trimble units, and others. + Positive attitude and is adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment. + Highly organized with a strong detail-oriented work style. + Excellent oral and written communication skills. Additional Information + Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
