Low Voltage Cable Technician

MCS is hiring for Low Voltage Cable Technicians at Orlando, FL .

This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.

The Low Voltage Cable Technician must demonstrate their adaptability by being able to install multiple types of devices.

Reading prints and following the directions and assignments given to them by the Site Superintendent/PM.

The Low Voltage Cable Technician will require good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting.

It is important that candidates keep abreast of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations.

Typical duties include:

• Installing, but not limited to Card readers, door contacts, motion Rex, Intercoms, Motion Detectors, Glass Breaks, Speakers, Nurse Call lights, Push Buttons, and Patient Stations.
• Installing and terminating all Low Voltage cabling.
• Terminating, testing, and labeling end-user devices.
• Comm room build-out.
• Utilizing industry standards and company-approved installation methods and techniques.
• Ensuring all work complies with applicable AHJ codes and industry standards.
• Ensuring plans, specs, and wiring diagrams are adhered to.
• Maintaining open communication with direct superior ensuring that work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations.

Following and maintaining proper safety practices Required:

• Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent Certification Requirements: Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge Experience Requirements: 2+ years in a Tech Role 2+ years’ experience in the commercial building construction industry related to: Structured Cabling, Security, Access Control, CCTV, A/V, Paging.
• Nurse Call, Sound Masking.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have own hand tools.
• Must be willing to travel up to 50% Must be able to stand, kneel and crouch for long periods of time.
• Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in high places and in confined places.
• Work sites vary from finished space interiors to new construction sites.
• Appropriate dress according to the work environment is required.
• Work hours will vary according to individual projects.
• Some jobs may require weekend shifts. Because of the unique settings and experience requirements for our Low Voltage opportunities, a 'written knowledge Pre-Questionnaire' may be part of the interview process.

• It is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.

• This position may require night and weekend work and could include travel to areas with varying field conditions.
• Physical Requirements May require climbing ladders, working at heights and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks.
• Must possess the capability to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended durations.
• Will be required to operate in noisy environments with temperatures higher or lower than standard office conditions.
• Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Sitting at desk.
• Phone use and PC/laptop.
• May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files.
• Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.
• Equipment and Machines General office equipment includes but is not limited to PCs/laptops, telephones, copiers, servers, switches, routers, and other computer equipment that supports the network environment.
• General field equipment includes but is not limited to hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial/motorized lifts, and test equipment.
• This position may require the operation of motor vehicles as an essential job function.
• Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• The ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly is crucial.
• Employees may be subject to periodic motor vehicle record checks, and any discrepancies may impact eligibility for the position.

• Other Essential Functions Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required certifications or licenses through the duration of the project or contract.
