As a key team member within Planning, Design and Construction (PDC), this position will serve the full range of Boston University's real estate portfolio which includes nearly 15 million square feet and over 140 acres of land. The Planning team leads physical planning, programming, and placemaking in support of Boston University's (BU) overall mission of education and research. The Senior Planner will bring a holistic approach to planning, grounded in BUs strategic vision and values, and balanced with technical and regulatory requirements. This position will work closely with academic and auxiliary partners for short- and long-term planning to enable emerging research directions, changes in educational delivery, and enhancements to student life and learning. The Senior Planner will be integral to the public approvals process in collaboration with many university stakeholders, including Government and Community Affairs and the Office of General Counsel. This position will also work in conjunction with the Facilities Maintenance and Operations leadership and Sustainability leadership to strategically address asset renewal for BUs urban campus environment.
