About this Position
Travels to separate locations to operate and maintain OSU-Center for Health Sciences Physical Plant equipment. Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, re-packing bearings, replacing packing glands, gaskets, valves, and gauges. Cleans or replaces components using hand tools and power tools. Maintains all air handling units by replacing defective belts, bearings, lubricating fans, and replacing filters. Maintains all building lighting systems, including replacement of fixtures, bulbs, and ballasts. Performs general electrical and plumbing duties. Performs water tests and replaces chemicals in the treatment tank to prevent scale build-up. This role will record data, such as the temperature of equipment, hours of operation, water and air pressure, water levels, voltage loads, and static pressure. Adjusts manual or overrides automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges. Visually inspects equipment at regular intervals to identify malfunctions or necessary repairs. Responds to emergency building system failures for the CHS campus and buildings in the evening.
Required Qualifications
Four (4) years of physical plant operations and maintenance experience in addition to high school diploma or GED.
