Job Description

Job Summary Assist Controller in providing financial support.

Essential Job Duties

  • Support leadership team from a financial and operational perspective.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process by working with leadership to prepare their budgets for the coming year.
  • Assist in the review of internal financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Perform financial analysis, including pro forma analyses.
  • Assist Controller with submitting monthly projections, key statistical data, and other requests.
  • Participate in the monthly business review (MBR) process.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on key metric performance distributed to the operational teams
  • Ensure conformity and consistency to accounting procedures.
  • Resolve questions regarding transactions that post to financial statements.
  • Subject matter expert (SME) with respect to the management systems used within LKQ's various divisions (. Project X for salvage and Prelude for aftermarket).
  • May perform site visits to conduct internal control reviews as well as financial and operational performance reviews.
  • May act as liaison between the Field and the Financial Service Center (FSC) in resolving inquiries by the Field to the FSC regarding posting or transactions in the general ledger.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Not responsible for supervising employees.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related
  • 5+ years' experience
  • Experience with GAAP

Preferred Qualifications

  • COGNOS experience a plus

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Ability to multitask and prioritize workflow. Excellent computer skills with mastery in Excel. Critical analytical thinking skills.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently.
  • Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements). Extensive overnight travel (over 50%)
