We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Unified Communications Engineer to join our IT team. This role is responsible for the end-to-end operations, support, and lifecycle management of Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco video conferencing hardware, and Microsoft Teams Phones. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audio-visual systems, collaboration technologies, and infrastructure project execution.
Qualifications
•3+ years of experience in AV/VC operations and support.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco video conferencing systems, and Teams Phones.
• Strong understanding of AV signal flow, control systems (e.g., QSC, Crestron, Extron), and network fundamentals.
• Proficient in reading and analyzing system logs and diagnostics.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Certifications
• Microsoft Teams Rooms Technical Solutions Professional
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
Key Responsibilities:
Microsoft Teams Rooms
• Operate, support, and monitor Microsoft Teams Rooms across HQ location.
• Perform regular health checks, firmware updates, and proactive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Teams Room devices, peripherals, and connectivity.
Cisco Video Conferencing Hardware
• Manage and support Cisco video conferencing endpoints (e.g., Webex Room Kits, Room series, etc..).
• Analyze logs and debug issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
• Collaborate with Cisco TAC, Microsoft support and internal teams for escalations and root cause analysis.
Microsoft Teams Phones
• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and support of Microsoft Teams-certified phones.
• Monitor call quality and device performance using Microsoft Admin Center and analytics tools.
• Provide end-user support and training as needed.
Audio Visual Systems
• Maintain and troubleshoot AV systems, including displays, control systems, microphones, and speakers.
• Monitor AV infrastructure using remote management tools and dashboards.
• Coordinate with vendors and integrators for repairs and upgrades.
Room Refresh & New Buildouts
• Participate in conference room refresh projects and new room buildouts.
• Assist in AV design reviews, equipment selection, and installation oversight.
• Ensure all systems are tested and documented before handover.
Infrastructure Projects & Initiatives
• Contribute to broader IT infrastructure initiatives involving collaboration tools and AV systems.
• Provide technical input and support for cross-functional projects.
• Document processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
