Responsibilities Mesilla Valley Hospital has been in operation since 7, serving those in need of treatment for a variety of psychiatric and substance abuse issues. Mesilla Valley Hospital is a -bed facility, providing access to quality behavioral healthcare and substance abuse treatment to residents of New Mexico, West Texas and Arizona. POSITION SUMMARY
The provides discharge planning activities for patients admitted to acute and residential services. This position helps complete discharge planning reflective of a basic understanding of the needs of people diagnosed with a mental disorder.
Qualifications EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited college in a social work program or related field. A minimum of three years of experience in the care of mental health patients preferred. Must possess CPR (AED) certification and successful completion of CPI training including appropriate use of seclusion and restraint prior to first shift.
SKILLS
Knowledge of external review organization, payor sources, financial planning and contracting (ie. Managed care, Medicare and Medicaid, Tricare) preferred. Must have required hours of continuing education, CPR, First Aid, and CPI as provide by the facility within days of employment.
