PURPOSE:
This position exists within the Health Economics team under the Health Services division. It provides data, reports, and analyses in support of initiatives to improve health equity, population health outcomes, access to care, and affordability of care, with a focus in the areas of management of health cost and utilization.This position exists within the Health Economics team under the Health Services division. Uses advanced analytical capabilities to support data science initiatives. Communicates across product teams and with customers and educates on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and statistical models. Acting as a liaison and interface between analytics, business units and other departments.
We are looking for an experienced professional in the greater Baltimore metropolitan area who is willing and able to work in a hybrid model. The incumbent will be expected to work a portion of their week from home and a portion of their week at a CareFirst location based on business needs and work activities/deliverables that week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Mines and extracts data and applies algorithms to derive insights.
Explores data to understand the data profile and its limitations.
Assists business units in the innovation of organizational performance.
Explores data patterns using existing data science tools.
Translates business priorities to data science deliverables.
Reviews trends in the ML/AI/DS space and assists with integrating new ML/AI designs into solutions and products.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 3 years of relevant work experience.
