Job description
Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Nonprofit Development Associate for a mission-driven education organization that empowers historically underrepresented students through mentorship, academic enrichment, and college-to-career success programs. This position is hybrid, based in Chicago, IL.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Nonprofit Development Associate plays a key role in supporting fundraising, donor engagement, and external communications for this impactful organization. This position assists with grant writing, donor stewardship, and event coordination while maintaining accurate donor data and supporting the advancement of meaningful community partnerships.

PERKS:
  • Competitive pay range of $23-25/hr, based on experience.
  • Hybrid schedule: remote on Mondays and Fridays, in-office Tuesday–Thursday.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals and reports aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Support donor communications, including appeals, acknowledgements, and stewardship materials.
  • Manage donation pages, data entry, and donor records within Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Coordinate donor-focused events, ensuring accurate tracking and meaningful engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support outreach and advancement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in fundraising, donor relations, or grant management within a nonprofit or mission-driven setting.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and comfort managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
  • A motivated, collaborative team member who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
