Overview
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support and enhance enterprise, campus, data center, and distributed partner network environments. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, cloud networking, and network security architecture, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance across complex infrastructures.
The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in routing and switching, MPLS-based campus networks, cloud integration, firewall administration, and advanced network troubleshooting, along with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Network Design & Architecture
-
enterprise LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructure Design, implement, and optimize , including MPLS-based campus environments and hybrid cloud networking integrations.

Develop scalable solutions for data center networking, including technologies such as VXLAN and ACI.

Support SD-WAN deployments and cloud-based network services.
Network Operations & Troubleshooting
-
Manage and troubleshoot complex environments involving routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, MPLS, and SD-WAN.

Administer and maintain switching, wireless, VPN, firewall, and load balancing technologies.

Perform advanced diagnostics using network monitoring tools, packet capture analysis, and performance management platforms.

Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 network availability, incident response, and service restoration.
Security & Infrastructure Management

Configure and support next-generation firewalls including Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, and SonicWall.

Manage secure VPN technologies and remote access solutions.

Maintain network segmentation, policy enforcement, and secure connectivity across distributed environments.
Hardware & Platforms

Support enterprise network hardware including Cisco Catalyst and Nexus, Arista, Aruba, and Extreme Wireless platforms.

Configure and maintain Citrix and F5 load balancers.

Utilize Cisco Catalyst Center, SD-WAN platforms, and cloud networking tools to manage infrastructure.
Collaboration & Leadership

Partner with internal IT teams, campus stakeholders, and external vendors to gather requirements, develop network solutions, and execute infrastructure projects.

Contribute to network lifecycle planning, documentation, and capacity management strategies.

Mentor junior network administrators and share technical expertise to strengthen team capabilities.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field, plus 5+ years of professional experience in network engineering or network administration, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-scale routing, switching, wireless networking, and network security environments.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills within complex multi-site infrastructures.
Preferred Technical Expertise

Advanced knowledge of routing and switching protocols, including EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and SD-WAN.

Experience with campus and data center networking technologies such as VXLAN and Cisco ACI.

Hands-on expertise with packet capture tools, network performance monitoring, and infrastructure diagnostics.

Familiarity with cloud networking platforms (AWS or equivalent).
Certifications (Preferred)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Hybrid schedule with the majority of work performed on-site in Phoenix, Arizona.
-
Frequent inter-campus travel; occasional regional travel.
-
Physical activities may include standing, walking, lifting, bending, and equipment handling.

Work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, with potential exposure to temperature changes and equipment noise.
