Job Requirements:
Responsible for informing the patients about their insurance benefits. Responsible for the collections on all inpatient admissions for their patient responsibility. Visits all self-pay patients in conjunction with the Medicaid Vendor to make sure the patient does not have insurance. Assists the patient with Charity Care applications and follows up with the patient to ensure they are accurately filled out. Has a thorough understanding of the Florida Prompt payment laws. Has a willingness to be cross-trained and will float to other areas or departments to meet the needs of the facility. Assists the Patient Access Director with discounts on all services. Assists the Patient Access Director with other assigned projects or duties.

Familiar with all policies and regulations pertaining to co-pays, deductibles and out of pocket expenses with all insurance carriers.
Familiar with the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Good understanding of Medicare/Medicaid Guidelines
Good understanding of COBRA Laws.
