Job Opening Summary
The Infection Prevention Lead (IP Lead) participates in implementing the Infection Control Plan at the assigned campus and hospital based clinics under the direction of the Manager and Director of Infection Prevention and Control. The IP Lead works to prevent, identify, monitor, and control the spread of, infection. The Lead IP participates in surveillance, data collection and analysis, data presentation, improvement teams, policy review, and staff education at the assigned campus and throughout the rest of the hospital system as deemed necessary.
Job Opening Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in nursing, medicine, pharmacy, respiratory care, medical technology, microbiology -OR- a Master's degree in Public Health or Epidemiology.
Certified in Infection Control (CIC) is required at hire or transfer. CIC does not have to be maintained.

Required Experience:
1-2 years of infection prevention in an acute care hospital
Preferred Experience:
Experience with EPIC ICON Module or other surveillance systems and EMR's. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt or equivalent.

5. Organizational Skills - must be highly skilled in managing multiple priorities and project management.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
7. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
8. The ability to deal with both abstract and concrete concepts.
9. The ability to manage web-based databases.
10. The ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of problems.
