  • Description : * Description : Our Client is hiring for 2 MT developer roles. They are open to junior candidate with a object orientated background from school and or internship. Candidate need a bachelors degree in a Computer Science related major and a minimum of a 3.3 cumulative GPA to get an interview. Open to 3.0 if they have an internship. There are several group hiring for this position : Claims systems, Auto Systems, Underwriting Modernization, Special Acquisitions team, and other groups. Our Client is decentralized and IT departments are set up to support a specific business unit. There technology stack varies through each group and are about 80% Java shop and 20% .NET shop. This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with an amazing company and culture. They are open to both Java or a .NET experience and have several openings in both areas. WFH : CTH resource will need to be onsite in GR, Lansing or Traverse City location for majority of the first three month with some remote flexibility. Then after the 3 to 6 month mark they will evaluate a hybrid schedule. Some resources are working as little as two days a month on site. Job Description : Our Java Software Developers : • Define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new and pre-existing software programs and applications • Actively participate in code / design reviews and brainstorming sessions • Develop program and system documentation • Analyze and fix software errors in a timely and accurate fashion • Consult with users, architects, project leaders, and management to resolve problems and suggest alternatives Desired Skills and Experience • A four-year college degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent experience. • Knowledge of Java, SQL, DB2, JSP, AJAX, Web Services, Spring, and / or JUnit is strongly preferred • Experience with OpenShift, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery is a plus • Enthusiasm for driving improvement by finding and implementing solutions to new challenges • Must be able to learn and effectively use tools and software development techniques as practiced, acquired, or adopted within the IT Division *Skills : * Java, SQL, XML, Groovy, IntelliJ, Apache, Camel, BitBucket, Docker Containers, .net, object oriented, python, Software development *Top Skills Details : * Java, SQL, XML, Groovy, IntelliJ, Apache, Camel, BitBucket *Additional Skills & Qualifications : * Communication – Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Good conceptualization and abstraction skills; ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely Proactive and Goal Oriented – Understands project vision and goals and possesses the drive to produce required daily deliverables and project milestone deliverables. Highly motivated and willing to put in the time and effort necessary to get the job done in the timeline provided Planning and Organization – Effective at managing time and prioritizing tasks. Team work - Enjoys working in teams with a diverse group of people Attitude - Looking for a challenge and a positive attitude Methodology - Willingness to learn and work in an agile methodology. *For our WFH policy, we are asking that CTH candidates be on site for the training. Training can vary by team but it could be anywhere from 3-8 weeks depending on the team and pace of the CTH candidate. While the CTH is in training we may offer them 20% WFH each week, which would typically be 4 days in the office and 1 WFH day each week. Once they are out of training their leader may grant more WFH flexibility based performance, (up to 95% WFH, which would be coming into the office at a minimum of 1-2 times per month).
