Supervising Editor

The Opportunity

HSN is looking for an experienced, passionate, and talented Supervising Video Editor to lead our dynamic team of full time and on-call video editors. As part of the HSN Content and Creative department, these video editors work cross-functionally with our partners across all platforms to create engaging, elevated, and entertaining video content. You will oversee the post-production process and inspire the team to develop creatively and professionally. The completion of projects to a high standard, on time, and within budget will be your core responsibility. Our mission is to infuse fun into every asset we create by use of captivating storytelling to drive authentic connections and ultimately build brand awareness and perception.

Responsibilities

Creative Video Editing – Hands-on crafting of narrative short form assets in non-linear edit platforms. Work with our partners and producers to conceptualize, design, create inspiring content, and go beyond the request. Leadership – Lead and mentor a team of professional video editors while providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure growth and development. Collaboration – Foster relationships with colleagues across all HSN platforms to instill confidence in our creative development process and understanding of the unique needs of each platform. Project Management – Oversee all aspects of the editorial process and propose solutions to improve workflow, upgrade creative tools, and keep our content on-trend and on brand. Scheduling – Work with content producers, the Business Development Team, and other stakeholders to schedule post-production resources to ensure deadlines are met. Business Comprehension – Immerse yourself in the strategic overview of our goals as a multi-channel retailer and strive to elevate HSN’s brand perception and awareness.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in film, media production, or related field with 10+ years in editorial / post-production with a focus on entertainment, retail, or advertising. Proven experience as a creative video editor with a strong portfolio that demonstrates technical proficiency, compelling story telling, masterful music editing, and impeccable taste. History of work showing a range of editorial styles across broadcast, streaming, web, and social media platforms. Knowledge of proper color correction techniques, frame rates, video compression, and industry best practices to achieve professional results. Outstanding communication skills with the ability to be resourceful and organized. Prior experience leading a team and working in a creative, deadline-based environment is preferred. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent applications and workflows.
