David Aplin Group has partnered with our client to recruit a VMware Virtual Infrastructure Specialist based remotely anywhere in Canada, for a contract position with a duration of 1 year. The primary role of this individual will be to provide support for virtual infrastructure and IaC automation tools. Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will also be required to apply and maintain cybersecurity controls on supported technologies, as well as perform technology functional testing as required. Candidates must be able to attain Secret Security Clearance. Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert Operations Management support for virtual infrastructure and IaC automation tools: VMware vSphere 7.x (VSAN and NSX-T), VMware SRM, EMC RP4VM, VMWare vRealize Orchestration and Automation, Ansible Tower, and Azure DevOps
  • Configure real-time/continuous health monitoring on supported technologies
  • Resolve incidents and problems related to supported technologies and integrations within SLA specifications
  • Execute configuration management changes on supported technologies, as necessary
  • Apply and maintain adequate cybersecurity controls on supported technologies
  • Execute standardized request fulfillment within SLA specifications while identifying opportunities to promote task automation by recommending design and implementing features
  • Ensure proper testing and maintain documentation or release notes
  • Perform technology upgrades ensuring compliance with vendor-provided compatibility matrices, and to maintaining required cybersecurity controls
  • Perform capacity management on IT infrastructure and respond to audit requests (i.e.: ad-hoc reporting)
  • Perform supported technology functional testing and health checks during change, incident, and other activities performed by other teams, as required
Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience working with VMware vSphere 7.x (VSAN and NSX-T), VMware SRM, EMC RP4VM, VMWare vRealize Orchestration, and Automation, Ansible Tower, and Azure DevOps.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Powershell or Python
  • Work experience in creating automation scripts, and developing orchestration and automation processes and products
  • Relevant experience developing and supporting IAC (Infrastructure as Code) with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Azure, et
  • Experience in system administration (VxRail, VSAN, Dell PowerEdge support)
  • ITIL certification, TOGAF certification, or Agile certifications is considered an asset
