Intervention Specialist

Intervention Specialist (Columbus OH)
We are seeking a dedicated Intervention Specialist for an outstanding charter school client in SE Columbus. This is an onsite full-time contract position serving Elementary and Middle school students in the Columbus, Ohio area.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students

- Provide specialized instruction and support to help students achieve academic and social goals

- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a nurturing learning environment

- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities

- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly

Skills:

- Proven experience as an Intervention Specialist or Special Education Teacher

- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and educational methodology

- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms

- Excellent communication and instructional skills

- Ability to act as mediator between children

- Cool-tempered, friendly, reliable, and adaptable

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education (or related field)

- Valid state (OH) teaching certification/license as an Intervention Specialist

- Prior experience working with students with special needs is preferred

- Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations
