Industrial Maintenance (automotive manufacturing)

Description:

The Maintenance/Facilities Manager coordinates the installation, maintenance, & repairs of all machinery & equipment within the facility (including maintenance or repairs of the building or property). This position is responsible for managing the full team of Maintenance personnel in a safe, effective & efficient manner in compliance with company policies, procedures & all legislative requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Manages group of Maintenance Technicians including delegation of assignments
• Coordinates regular preventive maintenance on daily equipment & facility
• Set priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions, & scheduled work
• Knowledgeable in the use a variety of hand & power tools, electric meters, & material handling equipment in performing duties
• Detect faulty operations & defective material, and report those & any other unusual situations to proper supervision
• Comply with safety regulations & maintain clean/orderly work areas
• Coordinate/monitor contractor activities for projects
• Involved in all site-wide building maintenance, ensuring compliance to any construction, renovation, or updates
• Maintain adequate supplies/equipment for the maintenance department & update project information/maintain project files
• Meet with Fire Department, Hydro, etc. as required
• Organize minor construction work (including dismantling/erecting walls, light carpentry work, pouring concrete, etc.)
• Operate computerized preventative maintenance program & maintain inventory of new equipment, manuals & warranties
• Troubleshoot/maintain electrical components/equipment to align with codes, prev. maintenance program & department procedures
• Schedule preventative maintenance checks of all electrical alarms
• Responsible for the installation/repair of facility plumbing fixtures, piping, & related equipment
• Organize regular mechanical/preventative maintenance work on equipment (i.e., circulating pumps, air handling systems, refrigeration, etc.)

Qualifications:

• Ability to work onsite daily in the local Flex-N-Gate facility (52674 Shelby Pkwy, Shelby Charter Township, MI 48315)
• 5+ yrs. of Industrial Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Management Experience
• Maintenance/Facility Supervisory experience within Automotive Manufacturing/Assembly strongly preferred
• Previous Supervisory experience in a Union Facility strongly preferred
• Preventive Maintenance Software experience (preferably Maximo)
• Ability to work off-shift hours as necessary
• Knowledge of local, provincial, & federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances & legislation
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook email, etc.)
