School Nurse

JOB DESCRIPTION Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work with students in the school setting, in the health room or within the school district. Salary: $ 35 – 45 / hour Why Join Maxim:

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing professional, medical treatment to students
• Responsible for early detection of student physical problems and for completing student health evaluations
• Coordinates vision, hearing, and orthopedic screening and health assessments
• Responsible for providing, or assisting teachers with providing disease prevention, nutrition and general health education
• Assists school personnel with the promotion of health education and immunization programs
• Designs and implements student Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) • Provides, and/or oversees, student medication administration and medical treatments as required by student’s IHP
• Maintains clinical records
• Provides emergency aid to students and school staff
• Consults with, conducts in-service training for, and serves as a resource person for school staff
• Participates in the implementation of health instruction/curriculum
• Counsels & assists students and parents in health-related adjustments

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in specific state required
• Two years of successful experience as a school nurse preferred
• Must have Pediatric Experience
• Valid CPR certification required
• Successful completion of training, testing, and/or additional requirements as stated by contract required
• Excellent Communication skills
• Proficiency in the English language required
• Current Health Certificate (per facility contract or state regulation) required
• Must meet all federal, state, local, and contract requirements
• Technological proficiency including mobile devices for documentation
• Must be at least 18 years of age
