Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking to hire a Histotechnician (HT) 2, whom will report to the Diagnostic Labs Team Leaders, and whom will have responsibility for preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examinations and handling the more specialized histo and immunocyto-chemistry testing within the Dept of Anatomic Pathology, under occasional guidance. The HT 2 maintains adequate quality control data, processes specimens for molecular testing, troubleshoots processes and follows up as needed, and is responsible for high volume workload as well as stat requests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Completes daily workload as assigned to include embedding, cutting, and staining tissue specimens.
*Performs and documents routine maintenance; maintains departmental records as assigned.
*Maintains department supplies at acceptable levels.
*The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.

Consideration may be given to candidates that can obtain certification within 120 days, in accordance with state guidelines.

VUMC, MetroCenter Campus in Nashville, Tennessee, Anatomic Histopathology Lab, Fulltime, 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 3pm-11:30pm, no weekends
