Duties range from minor repairs to complete rebuild/refurbishment to include brakes, hydraulics, suspensions, roofs, roll-up doors, body work, electrical items, and other repairs as deemed necessary as well as diagnosing, maintaining, and performing repairs in all facets for Kentucky trailer service customers. Will use basic handtools, electronics and pneumatic tooling. Will also maintain work area, vehicle, tools, and equipment in compliance w/safety regulations and any other duties as assigned deemed necessary. Time tracking, job estimation and invoice responsibility required.

Salary range: $58,000 - $65,000 annually, Monday to Friday, 1st Shift

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoots breakdowns, maintains supplies, performs preventive and corrective field mechanical service on equipment on site at client locations.
• Performs schedule and unscheduled equipment repairs ranging from minor to complete rebuild/refurbishment to include hydraulics, roofs, rollup doors, electrical items, and other repairs as deemed necessary.
• Service trailer requirements by gathering components and parts for completing installation, and performs quality check on work performed.
• Investigates customer’s request, conducts evaluation of trailer, and resolves problems. Documents service and installation action and completes forms, reports, logs, and records.
• Upholds business relationships with customers and peers. Addresses and resolves customer complaints. Maintains a professional manner at all times.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Follows all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Performs other routine duties as necessary.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years Semi-Trailer Repair Experience
• CDL Class A license preferred but not necessary.
• Must have or be able to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Must have a good driving record.
• Familiar with ABS systems.
• Ability to work on Brakes, Cams, Slack Adjusters.
• Ability to perform alignments.
• Must be able to use tire bars to change tires.
• Must be able to perform Preventive Maintenance.
• Strong welding skills (mig/stick: auto aluminum & auto steel)
• Hydraulic experience prefer.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (high mechanical aptitude)
• Experienced w/electronic and pneumatic tooling and basic hand tools.
• Must be detailed oriented and able to meet deadlines.
• Good customer service & communication skills ( read, write, speak, listen and understand work instructions)
• Able to lift up to 50lbs continuously.
• Able to perform repetitive task; high physical activity.
• Able to bend, kneel, stoop, stand, reach, twist, climb and/or crawl.
• Not afraid of heights.
• Able to work in areas regularly exposed to high noise level, vibration, dust and fumes.
• Computer skills preferred for job estimation and invoicing. (Service Point software training provided by KTS.
• Pre-employment screening.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

• The use of Safety Glasses is required.
• Steel or Composite Toed Boots and hearing protection in required areas.
