As a plumbing estimator in our evergreen industry, you will have the chance to define how our brand connects critical functions with our customers. We are looking for a visionary who looks to build their future in a permanent, full-time position in the specialized federal, commercial, industrial, water treatment, and airfield/airport electrical fields.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

As a plumbing estimator, you will:

Display proficiency in the use of the Quick Pen and or TSI estimating software. Be able to understand and change specific specifications in the software as it applies to estimating projects regarding Plumbing systems.
Display proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Within 30 days display proficiency in the use of the Bid Tracer software as it applies to the Estimating Dept.
Display an advanced understanding of the Plumbing industry inclusive the following.
• Local/National Codes and Standards for Plumbing systems.
• Labor and material costs associated with the Plumbing industry inclusive of MCAA labor standards.
Advanced proficiency in the estimating of Plumbing systems and have a fundamental estimating understanding of the opposite trade.
Display an advanced understanding and the preparing of Plumbing Budgets utilizing the Estimating Budget Tools provided by CSUSA SW.
Display an advanced understanding to calculate the costs associated in preparing and utilizing square foot budgets as needed. From this be able to transfer this data to an estimate spreadsheet and proposal.
Prepare estimates and proposals on CSUSA SW standard spreadsheets and proposals. Analyze the bid and apply appropriate labor factors and dollars. The bid/budget proposal should be applicable to the estimate with correct scope and exclusions.
Meet with vendors, subcontractor, and others as necessary to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Assist in the procuring submittals as required.
Maintain a conservative semi-professional appearance by following CSUSA SW dress code.
Follow up with clients on all bids to gather project information and bid results within a timely manner.
Participate in sales meetings and production meetings as necessary.
Maintain file management as required for the Estimating Drive and Bid Tracer – Follow set procedures to keep information up to date and or archived accordingly.
Participate in extra training provided by CSUSA SW or related industry partners. This shall include the understanding of Plumbing systems and medical gas systems. Also, extra emphasis on participating in after hour events with customers, joining and participating in associations that are related to the Plumbing Industry, associations related to the Sales & Estimating Industry. Costs associated with these trainings will not be an employee out of pocket costs provided the employee meets the requirements set forth at the time of these events and training.

Must Haves:

Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as project specifications, project front ends, project contracts, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of CSUSA SW.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
