Position Statement
The Analytics team serves as internal consultants to key business functions, providing specialized support to executive leadership. The team works closely with various departments to measure and drive company performance, acting as strategic advisors and ensuring effective use of data across the organization.
Position Summary
The Business Intelligence team manages reporting assets and automation to deliver data access and insights for users across the enterprise. This role will support ongoing reporting initiatives across core business domains that drive broader organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with analytics teams to gather business requirements and translate them into clear deliverables.
Work with Technology and Data teams to design data models for reporting and automation initiatives.
Develop well-organized, insightful reports, dashboards, and other data visualizations to support business decisions.
Ensure reporting assets and underlying data infrastructure align with long-term BI strategy.
Identify new data sources to support reporting needs.
Develop and curate datasets from underlying databases and data sources.
Leverage automation and monitoring to proactively identify data anomalies and ensure report accuracy.
Assist with ad-hoc and self-service reporting capabilities.
Provide training and support to end users on reports and dashboards.
Maintain data quality and ensure integrity of data sources consumed by reporting.
Oversee secure and timely distribution of reports through BI platforms such as MicroStrategy, Alteryx, and Redshift.
Collaborate with analytics product teams to manage solution lifecycles, SLAs, and enhancement backlogs.
Work with DBA teams to optimize data processes and schemas.
Provide production support for enterprise and departmental reporting solutions.
Support BI infrastructure during maintenance windows and system upgrades.
Required Skills & Attributes
Strong expertise in SQL, Hive, R, Python, Scala, or similar coding languages.
Detail-oriented, collaborative, and organized.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
Excellent communication skills, able to influence and collaborate across teams.
Self-starter with initiative, adaptability, and accountability.
Continuous learner with interest in new tools and methods.
Minimum Qualifications
- years of experience in analytics.
- years creating reports, dashboards, and summarizing data for actionable insights.
Experience with BI tools such as MicroStrategy or Tableau.
Knowledge of data warehousing, SQL, and data management, preferably with Redshift or similar systems.
Experience with ETL / data preparation tools (Informatica, SSIS, Alteryx).
Hands-on SQL experience for ad-hoc queries and stored procedures.
Experience creating process documentation and conducting knowledge transfers.
Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related analytical field.
Functional experience in hospitality or related industries.
Understanding of end-to-end data flows (ingestion to consumption).
Experience with statistical analysis or data mining tools (R, Python).
Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (, Six Sigma).
Knowledge of Agile project management.
Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid role; proximity to McLean, VA office preferred.
