WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING

At AMD, our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences—from AI and data centers, to PCs, gaming and embedded systems. Grounded in a culture of innovation and collaboration, we believe real progress comes from bold ideas, human ingenuity and a shared passion to create something extraordinary. When you join AMD, you’ll discover the real differentiator is our culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges—striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond.Together, we advance your career.

THE ROLE

AMD is seeking a Client Public Relations (PR) Manager to manage and execute tactical PR activities for Client Computing and Graphics product launches and momentum efforts as well as working with regional PR teams to help coordinate consumer client and graphics PR activities globally, with direct responsibility for NA. In conjunction with the Computing and Graphics PR Director, from an external perspective, this role includes managing relationships with and supporting NA press, driving coverage and pickup via traditional media, bloggers, non-traditional content creators, and YouTubers, reflecting key product messages and AMD thought leadership.

Internally, this role would work with our business units and marketing teams to secure product/technology messaging, collateral and content to drive product launches and momentum campaigns for key products. Overall goal is to drive maximum positive editorial coverage in NA and across the globe, according to given resources and budget.

In addition, the role oversees press sampling strategy across the Client and Graphics portfolios, ensuring alignment between business goals, marketing plans, and regional execution across North America and regions.

THE PERSON

You are a strategic, collaborative communicator who excels at working across complex organizations to bring structure, clarity, and focus to competing priorities. You are comfortable engaging with technical and business stakeholders, extracting what matters most, and shaping it into narratives that are accurate, compelling, and aligned with AMD’s broader positioning.

You bring strong judgment and influence, enabling you to guide business units and marketing teams toward shared PR objectives, clear deliverables, and disciplined execution. You think globally while accounting for regional nuance, and you are motivated by building frameworks and processes that help teams succeed.

In this role, you will have meaningful impact across North America with global reach, helping AMD better align its internal priorities with external storytelling and strengthening how the company presents its technology leadership to the market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive PR activities that support product launches and ongoing momentum activities for the client, gaming and graphics product portfolios.
  • Partner closely with business units and marketing teams to shape PR-ready storylines, identifying where product, platform, and market priorities can be elevated through earned media and thought leadership.
  • Support competitive intelligence and issue readiness by working with internal teams to anticipate narratives, identify gaps, and align responses before external engagement occurs.
  • Manage the product reviews for launches of new CPUs, graphics cards, and OEM/SI systems (AMD-led), including ad hoc in-person support for New Product Review Programs (NPRP), coordinating with the BU on unit testing and shipping, coordinating with regional PR on unit allocation and logistics, and managing critical hands-on support.
  • Maintain direct, ongoing contact and support for NA media, bloggers, non-traditional content creators, and YouTubers to increase positive perceptions and drive exemplary use of AMD technology.
  • Provide front-line technical support and direct engagement with NA reviewers to assess and troubleshoot issues during NPRP efforts and ongoing product review opportunities.
  • Support OEM- and SI-led announcements and reviews of AMD-powered laptop and desktop PCs, working in close coordination with members of the Computing and Graphics PR team.
  • Devise and implement new and creative communication campaigns, review opportunities, and demand generation activities to drive awareness of and engagement with AMD technologies.
  • Maintain efficient communications with AMD product teams in NA, providing guidance on press engagement and NPRP strategy, competitive positioning, and PR/NPRP best practices.
  • Coordination with product management and marketing to ensure alignment of NA priorities with PR efforts.
  • Support communication between headquarter PR to regional teams, ensuring clarity, consistency, and readiness, while advocating for regional needs and feeding those requirements back into global planning.
  • Monitor competitive activities and ongoing market dynamics to inform PR activities and strategic guidance provided to the BU, marketing and sales teams.
  • Travel to and support of media events (press briefings, press conferences, media interviews, tradeshows, press visits, etc.) to ensure product and technology messaging is accurately conveyed and covered.
  • Draft materials in support of PR activities (Q&As, talking points, press releases, pitches, blogs, bylines, eblasts, etc.)
  • Work on related projects and / or assignments as needed

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive working experience in Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
  • Excellent communications, organizational, and people skills
  • Excellent technical skills, gaming awareness, and interest in the computing and graphics fields

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related non‑technical field.

LOCATION

  • Austin, TX
  • Some North American and international travel required
