We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team at Bluefors in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you will support the engineering, manufacturing, and quality organizations by developing products, improving existing designs, and creating and maintaining critical engineering and production documentation. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem-solving, product development, CAD design, and working closely with manufacturing teams in a high-tech environment. Interested? Keep reading!

Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining engineering documentation such as product manuals, production work instructions, bills of materials (BOMs), engineering project folders, product models, and technical drawings. You will assist with and lead design projects for Bluefors' core product lines, including product improvements and new product development, while supporting product life cycle management. You will generate, modify, and maintain 3D models, 2D CAD schematics, P&IDs, and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor and other Autodesk products. In addition, you will support drafting and design activities, conduct validation and verification testing of products and prototypes, evaluate products at various stages of production, and compile and analyze statistical data to support product quality and reliability.

You will also maintain a presence on the manufacturing floor and serve as an important communication link between Engineering and Production. You will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure documentation and drawings are complete, current, and properly maintained in accordance with Bluefors' Quality Management System. You will participate in manufacturing quality audits, support corrective actions, and help resolve engineering and production issues in a timely manner.

We are looking for a candidate with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited university or college. A minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. You should be proficient with CAD programs such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD and be able to read and interpret technical engineering drawings. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and 3D modeling software is expected. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, initiative, and the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work are also important for success in this role.

We also appreciate candidates who have experience with electrical systems, machining equipment, ISO, UL, or PED compliance requirements. Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME standards will help you stand out. Experience working directly with manufacturing and quality teams, as well as hands-on experience using a variety of tools and equipment, is highly valued. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys taking ownership of projects, solving technical problems, and continuously improving products and processes. Candidates who align with our values of quality, collaboration, dependability, adaptability, diversity, and safety will thrive in this role.

We offer you an interesting, challenging, and responsible position, along with the support of a highly skilled and growing organization. This is an excellent opportunity for your professional growth in a dynamic, enthusiastic, and collaborative team where we work together and support each other. We foster a multicultural work environment with room to grow, where you can use your potential and further develop your engineering skills.

We offer a generous benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), long- and short-term disability, life insurance, training, tuition reimbursement, and Paid Time Off (PTO).
