We are currently seeking a qualified individual with industry or related experience to join our team! Reporting directly to the Chief Building Engineer or the Account Manager-Engineering.
The Maintenance Apprentice will be tasked with general maintenance and repairs of facility equipment and property structures, as well as grounds maintenance.
All applicants must successfully pass HBM prescreen check, valid Hawaii driver’s license, reliable vehicle, some hands-on maintenance experience, proficiency in light plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, and painting, all tasks must be performed in accordance with EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety regulations.

Job Title: Maintenance Apprentice
Location: Downtown Oahu (Honolulu, HI 96813)
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with availability to work 3 Saturdays per quarter (total of 9 Saturdays annually)
Compensation per hour: $20.00
Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Apprentice will report directly to the Chief Building Engineer or the Account Manager-Engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, including:
Basic plumbing and electrical work
Mechanical systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)
Painting, drywall, and grounds maintenance
Accessing small spaces measuring 18 inches by 18 inches
Ensuring mechanical equipment and systems are functioning correctly and performing repairs as needed
Providing excellent customer service while interacting with property managers, vendors, and customers
Engaging in continuous movement, including standing, walking, bending, and stretching throughout shifts
Lifting, pushing, and pulling weights between 50 to 75 pounds
Creating and maintaining work orders and purchase orders
Completing additional maintenance-related tasks assigned by the HBM supervisor or property management
Skills and Qualifications:
Must pass an HBM prescreen
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required
High school diploma or GED preferred
Customer service-oriented mindset
General maintenance experience
Basic mathematical skills
Previous experience in creating and maintaining work orders and purchase orders
Strong attention to detail
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
Excellent organizational skills
Eagerness to learn and grow
