Nursing Clinical Instructor
The purpose of the Nursing Clinical Instructor position is to instruct and/or lead Nursing lab and clinical courses. Schedules may include day, evening, or weekend hours in an on-campus lab or off-campus clinical site. This position is designated as Campus Security Authority (Clery Act) and Responsible Employee (Title IX).
Special Assignments - May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in nursing or Associate's Degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a BSN program. Current unencumbered Virginia RN license or a multi-state license privilege to practice Nursing in Virginia A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)Knowledge Knowledge of current nursing practice, teaching discipline, and trends in nursing education Knowledge of and experience with concept-based nursing curricula Knowledge of standardized patient concepts, processes, and practices. Knowledge of curricula and accreditation standards.Skills Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Strong computer skills.Ability to Instruct students through Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students in a diverse educational environment. Work effectively with populations representing diverse ages, backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities Work at all campus and off-campus locations.
Additional Considerations - Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing strongly preferred Previous experience teaching in a pre-licensure RN program Mother-baby, Med-Surg, Pediatric, and/or Psych experience (other areas also considered)
